Day 1: Depart North Wales and travel to Holmfirth, where ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ was set. After some time at leisure we continue to our hotel for a 4-night stay.
Day 2: Travel first to the attractive town of Pickering to board the North York Moors Railway for a nostalgic journey through the North York Moors National Park. Disembark at Grosmont, then transfer by coach to Goathland, which is famous as ‘Aidensfield’ in the popular Heartbeat TV series and more recently as Hogsmeade in the Harry Potter films. We continue to the lovely fishing port of Whitby.
Day 3: We travel to the splendid city of York and enjoy the history and culture of this walled riverside city. York boasts numerous places of interest including the Jorvik Centre, the Railway Museum and York Minster.
Day 4: Today we visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Saltaire. Opened in 1853, this industrial village and textile mill takes its name from its founder, Sir Titus Salt, and the River Aire, which runs through it. Today, Salts Mill and the village are home to many independent shops and galleries.
Day 5: We depart our hotel and return home to North Wales, stopping en-route in Haworth. This hilltop village is internationally famous for its connection with the Bronte sisters.
