Itinerary

Day 1: Friday 28 February 2025

Travel to Scotland with a stop at The Famous Blacksmiths Shop Museum, situated at the heart of Gretna Green village. It is the world-famous, historic home of the anvil wedding and has been at the centre of runaway love, since the Marriage Act of 1754. Inside the museum, you can contemplate marriage certificates that date back to 1754, the original wedding room that has the traditional and popular anvil, old carriages, and replicas of wedding dresses (admission extra). After some time at leisure, we complete the journey to the Winnock Hotel for a 3-night stay.

After dinner tonight, enjoy an evening of Scottish entertainment at the hotel.

Day 2: Saturday 1 March 2025 (St David’s Day)

Today we journey to Dundee, the rejuvenated ‘City of Discovery’. Visit its new Waterfront development, which has been transformed following a £1 billion regeneration and the location of the V&A Dundee – the first branch of the Victoria & Albert Museum to operate outside London. See Captain Scott’s ship, the RRS Discovery.

You can spend the whole day in Dundee or join the coach for an afternoon excursion to St Andrews. Famous for its University and Golf Links, the town also has a castle, cathedral and picturesque beaches.

Tonight enjoy the highlight of the weekend, an evening of fantastic entertainment by Dylan Morris and comedians Bach a Mawr to celebrate St David’s Day in style.

Day 3: Sunday 2 March 2025

A full day’s tour to Edinburgh, there will be ample time to explore Scotland’s historic capital city with its imposing castle, Royal Mile, Princes Street and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official Scottish residence of the King.

This evening enjoy a final night of singing with entertainment provided by the fabulous Dylan Morris.

Day 4: Monday 3 March 2025

Depart our hotel after breakfast and make the return journey home to North Wales. En-route we will visit the cathedral city of Carlisle, located in Cumbria, a few miles south of the Scottish Border.
