Day 1: Early morning departure from North Wales and travel to Dover for the short ferry crossing to Calais. We complete our journey to Lille for a 3-night stay at the Mercure Lille Centre Grand Place Hotel****.
Day 2: A free day to experience the magic of Lille, the city has the biggest flea market in Europe and amongst the many boutiques and shops you will find Europe’s largest book shop – the Furet du Nord. The central square is named after General de Gaulle who was born here. Head for the Hotel de Ville with its belfry at 104 metres is the tallest in Europe. The Palace of Fine Arts has the richest collection of any museum in France after the Louvre.
Day 3: After breakfast, we travel to Bruges – the ‘Venice of the North’. It is regarded as one of Europe’s finest preserved medieval cities. Bruges boasts a network of canals, crossed by pretty humpback bridges and winding, cobbled alleyways leading to beautiful squares, lined with magnificent guild houses – a true architectural gem.
Day 4: Enjoy a final breakfast before we make the journey to Calais for the return ferry to Dover. Take the opportunity to do some duty-free shopping at the Cite Europe Carrefour Hypermarket in Calais, we have plenty of room on the coach! Upon arrival in Dover, we complete our journey home to North Wales.
