15th September 2024: Travel to the Suncliff Hotel in Bournemouth
Morning departure from North Wales and travel south to Bournemouth for an overnight stay at the Suncliff Hotel. 16th September 2024: Travel to Guernsey
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, catch the morning ferry from Poole to Guernsey. On arrival in Guernsey, you’ll be met by coach for the transfer to your hotel – La Trelade Hotel. The hotel is situated just 3 miles from St Peter Port and a short walk from the coastal paths. Enjoy dinner at the hotel before spending the rest of the evening at your leisure exploring the area.
17th September 2024: Island Tour and Sausmarez Manor
After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll enjoy a full day coach tour of the island including Fort Grey and the Shipwreck Museum. A highlight will be a stop at The Little Chapel, as much a curiosity as a work of art, totally covered in shells and broken bits of china. You’ll also visit Sausmarez Manor, a family home, with some parts dating back to the 12th century. The estate houses a curious sculpture park and a large bamboo forest. After returning to your hotel, enjoy dinner together as a group before spending the rest of the evening at your leisure.
18th September 2024: St Peter Port and Castle Cornet
After breakfast, you’ll spend the day exploring St Peter Port, Guernsey’s picturesque capital. Afterwards, you’ll visit Castle Cornet, St Peter Port’s harbour guide for more than 800 years. A guided tour will take you onto the battlements for views towards the neighbouring islands. After the tour, explore some of the onsite museums and be sure not to miss the daily firing of the noon-day gun. You’ll then return to your hotel where you will enjoy dinner together as a group before spending the rest of the evening at your leisure.
19th September 2024: Sark
After breakfast you will travel from St Peter Port to Sark via a 45-minute ferry, with no cars on the island of Sark we’ll arrange a tractor drawn bus to transfer you up Harbour Hill. You’ll also enjoy an hour’s carriage ride exploring the island before some free time to take in this idyllic place. Take the ferry back to Guernsey and return to your hotel where you’ll have dinner together as a group before spending the rest of the evening at your leisure.
20th September 2024: Travel to Bournemouth
After breakfast enjoy some free time before returning to the mainland via ferry and checking into the Carlton Hotel Bournemouth. Perched on Bournemouth’s famous East Cliff, the Bournemouth Carlton Hotel offers dramatic views across the bay. Built in the Victorian era, the hotel has a rich history and has attracted some illustrious guests over the years, including Harold Macmillan, Bobby Moore and General Eisenhower, who debated D-Day landing plans with Field Marshal Montgomery over lunch at the hotel during World War Two. Meander down the path from the clifftop and you'll be basking on the golden sands in no time, while a 15-minute walk along the seafront takes you to the Oceanarium and Bournemouth Pier. Enjoy your final dinner together as a group before spending the rest of the evening at your leisure.
21st September 2024: Return Home
After breakfast at the hotel, check out and commence our journey home to North Wales.
