Day 1: Depart North Wales and travel direct to our hotel in Swansea for a 2-night stay. After check-in the afternoon is free to do as you wish in Swansea. Return to the hotel for your meal this evening.
Day 2: This morning we enjoy a visit to the delightful small town of Laugharne, situated on the estuary of the River Taf. The famous Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas, lived here for a few years until his death in 1953 at the age of 39. He once famously described the town as “a timeless, mild, beguiling island of a town”. He is buried at St Martins Church in the town and there are a number of landmarks in Laugharne connected with Dylan Thomas. These include the Dylan Thomas Boathouse, where he lived with his family from 1949 to 1953, and now a museum; his writing shed; and the Dylan Thomas Birthday Walk, which was the setting for the work Poem in October.
We continue to the Pendine Sands Museum of Land Speed (admission included). This new state-of-the art Museum houses fascinating information about the amazing vehicles that have made it into the record books at the Pendine Sands Museum of Speed. The location of the museum is awe-inspiring as it sits right on the edge of the famous sands.
We return to our hotel for dinner before this evening’s concert Tour of Wales grand finale Concert at the Brangwyn Hall (ticket included).
Day 3: We depart Swansea and travel to the edges of the Brecon Beacons National Park to visit the Penderyn Whisky Distillery for a tour and the opportunity to taste excellent Welsh whisky (admission included). Afterwards we will complete our return journey to North Wales.
