Day 1: Sunday 11 May 2025 – Travel to Hull
Depart North Wales and travel to York. Enjoy some time at leisure in this historic city before we continue to Hull for our overnight ferry crossing to Rotterdam. Tonight enjoy your 5-course evening meal followed by on-board entertainment before retiring to your en-suite cabin.
Day 2: Monday 12 May 2025 – Travel to Germany
We will disembark the ferry after breakfast and continue our journey across Holland and into Germany travelling east towards the imperial city of Hanover located in the region of Lower Saxony where we will make an overnight stop in the Hanover/Wolfsburg area. Dinner will be at the hotel this evening.
Day 3: Tuesday 13 May 2025 – Travel to Prague
Depart after breakfast and continue to Prague, our base for the next 2-nights. The journey today will take us further east into Germany via the cities of Leipzig and Dresden before crossing the border into the Czech Republic and the Imperial City of Prague. We will check into our hotel – the 4* Holiday Inn Congress Centre Prague. Dinner is at the hotel this evening.
Day 4: Wednesday 14 May 2025 – Prague Sightseeing and afternoon at leisure
After breakfast in the hotel, a local guide will join us on the coach for a 2-hour city sightseeing tour where we will view the main highlights of Prague. Following the tour, the rest of the day will be at leisure to explore the city at our own pace. Prague lies on the banks of the Vltava river overlooked by the magnificent Hradcany Castle and St. Vitus’ Cathedral. Wander across the famous Charles
Bridge and visit the Old Town Square with its astronomical clock. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars located around Wenceslas Square or there is the option to take a boat trip on the Vltava. Dinner will be at the hotel this evening.
Day 5: Thursday 15 May 2025 – Travel to Budapest
We will depart after breakfast driving southeast, via the Czech city of Brno. following the Danube valley to Budapest where we will stay for 2-nights. Our hotel is the 4* Mercure Budapest Korona which has an indoor pool and spa. Dinner will be at the hotel this evening.
Day 6: Friday 16 May 2025 – Budapest Sightseeing
This morning, after breakfast, we will enjoy a guided half-day city tour by coach which will show us the main highlights. Budapest is a fascinating city of two halves. In the medieval old town Buda, high on the hill overlooking the mighty Danube, we’ll find the Royal Palace, Matthias Church and cobbled streets. On the opposite bank of the river lies Pest dominated by the famous and majestic domed Parliament, St. Stephen’s Basilica, the State Opera House and the imposing Heroes Square. The afternoon will be free to further explore the city at our own pace. Dinner will be at the hotel this evening.
Day 7: Saturday 17 May 2025 – Travel to Vienna
Today we head to Vienna, following the ‘Danube Bend’, one of the most beautiful stretches of the river. We travel via Esztergom with its spectacular basilica, and Győr, known as the ‘town of rivers’ with an historic Old Town full of Baroque mansions and churches. On arrival into Vienna we will meet up with a local guide for a guided panoramic city tour by coach before checking into our hotel which is the 4* Hotel Ananas located near to the city centre for 2-nights. Dinner is at the hotel this evening.
Day 8: Sunday 18 May 2025 – Vienna at leisure
Breakfast in the hotel. Today is a free day to explore Vienna. Enjoy famous sights such as St Stephen’s Cathedral, State Opera House, Museum Quarter, Hofburg Palace, Parliament, City Hall, Burgtheater or Prater Park and its famous Ferris wheel. There are optional river cruises on the Danube to see the city from a different perspective or a romantic horse and carriage ride. Dinner is at the hotel this evening.
Day 9: Monday 19 May 2025 – Depart Vienna
We will depart after breakfast making our homeward journey travelling via the Danube Valley passing the historic abbey of Melk, the city of Linz into Germany, via Passau and the medieval city of Regensburg and the infamous city of Nuremburg. We will stop overnight near Wurzburg. Dinner will be included at the hotel this evening.
Day 10: Tuesday 20 May 2025 – Travel to Rotterdam
We will continue after breakfast travelling across German, via Frankfurt, Bonn, Cologne and Dusseldorf before crossing the border into Holland and to the port of Rotterdam for our overnight crossing to the UK. Once again, we can enjoy the onboard entertainment and a 5-course dinner before retiring to your en-suite cabin
Day 11: Wednesday 21 May 2025 - Arrive UK, Manchester then Home
We will disembark the ferry after breakfast and continue our journey back across the Pennines and home to Wales. We will stop en-route in Manchester, where you can spend some time at leisure in the city centre.
