Day 1: Early hours of the morning departure from North Wales and travel to Dover for the ferry crossing to Dunkirk. Upon arrival we continue into Holland and Lelystad for a 3-night stay at the 4-star Leonardo Hotel.
Day 2: After breakfast we travel to Keukenhof Gardens (admission included), where floral arrangements are found in a picture book setting of old trees and waterways. Since opening to the public in 1950 Keukenhof has developed into one of the world’s finest bulbfield and flower parks. Tulips proliferate but there are daffodils, hyacinths, narcissi and crocuses to admire as well. Marvel at the hundreds of thousands of flowers artistically displayed.
We continue to Amsterdam, where you can enjoy some time at leisure in this vibrant city. Museum fans are spoilt for choice with great exhibitions at Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank’s House. For a slightly unusual museum experience, head to the interactive Heineken experience to tour the original brewery and sip perfectly chilled beer. For the energetic, explore this unique city on foot with its famous tree-lined canals and preserved 17th Century gabled houses. View the city from its famed canals by taking an optional 1-hour cruise along its historic waterways.
Day 3: Today we head across the Houtribdijk - a 27km dyke, built between 1963 and 1975, which crosses what used to be the Zuider See and is now the Ijsselmeer, the largest inland lake in Western Europe. Look out for the radio station halfway across before arriving in Enkhuizen. From here we board the museum ship Friesland for our cruise to Medemblik. Free time in the town of Medemblik before we board the famous tram for our included journey which travels through the lovely Dutch countryside, during our journey we will be served coffee and a local pastry. On arrival in Hoorn we return to our hotel.
Day 4: Depart our hotel after breakfast and make the journey to Dunkirk for the return ferry crossing to Dover. Upon arrival, we complete our journey home to North Wales.
