Day 1: Morning departure from North Wales and travel to the spa town of Cheltenham. After some time at leisure, we continue our hotel near Bristol for a 2-night stay. Enjoy dinner at the hotel this evening.
Day 2: After breakfast the day is free in the city of Bristol to do as you wish. The harbour side offers visitors a variety of attractions, such as Brunel’s SS Great Britain, once the largest passenger ship in the world. Another option would be to take the little ferry along the historic harbour.
We then return to the hotel where we will have an early dinner before heading to Bridgwater for the carnival. This evening, see the November Somerset sky set alight by this annual illuminated procession, the Somerset Carnival of Light. Fantastic floats ablaze with lights, live music, marching bands, revellers and entertainers all add to the magical wintery atmosphere.
Day 3: Enjoy a final breakfast before we travel to the wonderful Roman city of Bath, a protected World Heritage Site, there’s free time to discover the city’s architectural wonders. A highlight is the world-famous Roman Baths, one of the city’s finest historic sites where you can walk on the ancient-cobbled pathways much as the Romans did 2,000 years ago (admission extra). You could also walk to the Grade I listed Pulteney Bridge. Completed by 1774, the bridge was designed by Robert Adam in a Palladian style. It is exceptional for having shops built across its full span on both sides. We depart at 2.00pm and make the return journey to North Wales.
