Day 1 – Saturday 15 March 2025: Travel to Holyhead for the 9.00am ferry crossing to Dublin and then continue our journey north to County Donegal, and our hotel in Bundoran for a 4-night stay. Upon arrival you may want to visit a local bar and watch the 6 Nations rugby match between Wales and England which is being played at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff (4.45pm kick off).
Day 2 – Sunday 16 March 2025: The morning is at leisure in Bundoran, the most southerly town in County Donegal and a lovely seaside resort which has been delighting visitors for over two centuries. Bundoran has many beautiful attractions however the Rougey Walk is on top of our list. As you begin the Rougey Walk Experience, you will arrive at the stunning Fairy Bridges – sea stacks thousands of years old and is a star attraction of the Wild Atlantic Way Coastline. With scenic views for 360 degrees, you can see back to beautiful Mullaghmore in County Sligo and across to Donegal Bay with views of the highest Sea Cliffs in Europe known as the Slieve League Cliffs.
This afternoon we visit Belleek Pottery, where the entrance and a guided tour is included. The tour is the jewel in the crown to any visit to Belleek Pottery. Guests are brought around the complete manufacturing process and get a chance to meet and chat with the craftspeople along the way. You could be asked to make a little shamrock after you see how it's done and add a few paint marks to a vase. Not forgetting the quality control department: As there are no seconds in the company any items that fail the Pottery's many quality checks have to be broken so you are provided with goggles so you can have a smashing time!!!!
Day 3 – Monday 17 March 2025 (St. Patrick’s Day): The day is free in Bundoran to enjoy the events taking place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The highlight of the day is the street parade, which will take place at 3:30pm going from the East End of town (Ballyshannon side) to the West End of town (Sligo side). There’ll be marching bands, local community groups, emergency services vehicles, local businesses as well as visiting delegations from all over Europe and more all taking part. Pick your viewing spot early and make sure that you get the best view of what’s sure to be an exciting parade! From early afternoon until late on St Patrick’s Evening and on the days before and after, live music to suit all tastes will be available in pubs and venues right across town. From trad to rock to country, you’ll find your toes tapping right across the holiday weekend!
Day 4 – Tuesday 18 March 2025: Today enjoy a morning at leisure to recover from the previous day’s festivities. This afternoon we take a short excursion to the coastal town of Sligo. Sligo is situated on the Wild Atlantic Way and is known as the “Land of heart's desire”, being world renowned for the beauty of its landscape and the warmth of its people.
Day 5 – Wednesday 19 March 2025: After a leisurely breakfast we depart our hotel and travel to Dublin for the 2.50pm return ferry crossing to Holyhead.
