Day 1: Hampton Court Palace & Gardens
Early morning departure from North Wales and travel to London to start our visit at one of the best-known gardens in the world: Hampton Court Palace & Gardens, the former home of flamboyant King Henry VIII. Discover Henry’s enormous Tudor kitchens, get lost (and hopefully found) in the world’s oldest puzzle maze and great vine (submitted to the Guinness World Record Book in 2005), and learn all about your surroundings from the costumed tour guides. Hampton Court Palace is also home to a huge variety of wildlife, including the descendants of Henry VIII’s deer herd. Afterwards, we travel to our hotel near Heathrow for a 2-night stay. Dinner at the hotel this evening.
Day 2: Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew and guided tour
After breakfast, it’s off to Kew Gardens for a full day to explore this world-famous attraction. With more than 130 hectares of landscapes and gardens, tropical glasshouses, giant water lily pools, a treetop walkway and lake, it’s no wonder that Kew is a firm favourite with groups of all ages. When it’s time for lunch, there’s a choice of four cafes and restaurants. During your visit you’ll be taken on a 60-minute guided tour of the gardens by one of Kew’s friendly and knowledgeable guides. We return to the hotel for our evening meal.
Day 3: RHS Wisley and guided tour
Enjoy breakfast before we visit Royal Horticultural Society Wisley, it is generally regarded as the jewel in the crown of the many RHS gardens around the UK and undoubtedly one of the finest gardens in the world. There are more than 200 acres of gardens offering exquisite examples of innovative design and cultivation techniques. Your visit includes a 60-minute tour, giving you time to learn all about the history of the RHS and Wisley and explore the impressive glasshouse and exotic plants. It’s a fitting end to three days of gardening excellence. Afterwards, we make the return journey home to North Wales.
